Plagued by the hardships and responsibilities inherited from her lineage as an Ananta, the charitable Mayu carries on her duties with grit and dedication to protect her district from the Droria incursion while masking her true identity with a sweet and enthusiastic barista persona. Despite all the weight on her shoulders as one of the few surviving Ananta in her district, she maintains her focus and acknowledges her role with reverence as a guardian of human society. Upon developing a personalized approach that is both entertaining and strategic, she presses on with confidence that she may one day restore her mystical powers without drawing attention from her oppressors, and possibly meet face-to-face with new or familiar comrades who are reaching for the same goal.By utilizing the abandoned headquarters of the Ananta district in Olisphia, Mayu managed to establish her own café as a means of operating incognito under the enemy’s noses, naming it MahoKuma. With the absence of her squadron—presumably missing or deceased—Mayu’s eternal light has since dwindled, thus rendering her rather limited, but not completely powerless, amidst the chaos and despair sewn by the Droria. However, even in the darkness, there will always exist a spark, no matter how small, that would ignite her light once again. Her café serves as both a beacon and a place of respite to those whose lights have yet to burn out. She intends to reignite the flames in the citizens’ souls and restore the flow of eternal light in Olisphia. Through this karmic exchange, Mayu may just be able to recover enough of her own power to fend off the Droria once again. Each of her customers is no stranger to the lonely road of lethargy and malaise, especially one that is ruled by the eternally corrupt forces known only to her as the Droria. Luckily for them, MahouKuma serves as a “checkpoint” along that desolate road, hopefully allowing them some comfort to change their perspectives and redirect that negative energy to something more bright and fortuitous. Perhaps that “checkpoint” could become a common hangout spot for people to revisit now and then. Students gathering around to study or take a break from their schoolwork with their friends, working adults grabbing a quick coffee just before their 8-hour shift, or soon-to-be couples making their first memory together at a small booth; the vision is crystal clear.Glossary
